PES 2021 Classic Patch: Calcio All Stars (1980-present) Update 0.3.1

This Quelarion personal project rebuilds the PES 2021 database with legendary players from the 90s and 2000s, covering over 250 clubs and 75 national teams. Inspired by a love for classic football—especially Italy—it includes some unique, nostalgic touches. While still a work in progress, there’s already plenty of content to explore and enjoy for fans of retro football.

• Minimalist, no sponsor/no supplier logo kits for all teams. Additional historical kits for selected teams (also no sponsor/supplier logos).
• Custom scoreboards for each nation and for selected competitions

• Only black boots, no silly socks above the knee.

Update 0.3 Features:

• Added a patch mode selector to facilitate switching between different modes (base, faces only, stadiums only, full patch).
• Buttons replacing minifaces for all players, based on first shirt colours and with shirt numbers, for all teams.
• Added 4 teams for the Czech Republic: Slavia Praha, Slovan Liberec, Sparta Praha, Viktoria Plzen.
• Added a scoreboard for the Czech Republic, featuring the old and new logos for FACR.

Update 0.3.1 Features:

• Fixed many players with wrong roles.
• Added 4 teams for Denmark: Aalborg, Brøndby, Copenhagen, Odense.
• Added 4 teams for Ukraine: Chornomorets Odesa, Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk, Vorskla Poltava.
• Added scoreboards for Denmark and Ukraine.

Compatibility: Tested this with PES 2021 vanilla on Steam. It also seems to work with PES 2021 CPY.

Installation & Extra content:

1) Extract the base archive anywhere. Sider is configured to start the game via steam. Edit sider.ini if needed.

2) Delete/Remove your EDIT file from /user/Documents/KONAMI or it will go in conflict with the db in sider.

3) Launch via sider.exe

4) OPTIONAL: if you downloaded the face pack, extract its contents in the main folder of the patch (the folder CALCIO_faces should be insider /livecpk).

5) OPTIONAL: if you downloaded the stadiums pack, extract its contents in the main folder of the patch (the folder stadium-server should be insider /content).

Uninstall: since everything runs from sider, it will not touch your PES installation. Just delete the folder where you extracted the patch and you are good to go.

How this patch is made:

For each country, clubs are selected based on historical/eternal rankings by games played. Most European countries have at least 4 clubs, with 8 clubs for England, Spain and Germany. Smaller football nations will have only 2. I might add more later, but it's not guaranteed. For Brasil I plan 10 clubs, for Argentina 8. A full list of clubs and their current status is below.

For each club, 40 players are selected based on caps collected with the club and their preferred role, so that all roles have enough depth. This leads to some hard choices in leaving out certain players. In addition, only players born in 1960 and later are included. Sometimes, players born after 2000 are excluded in favour of older players.

Player data for PES 2021 is collected from the original PES 2021 database and many, many patches found on the internet. All credits for player creation go to the original patch creators. I have not created a single player by hand.

Many players, especially less famous ones, couldn't be found in existing patches: in these cases I have used data from transfrmarkt to source the main role and nationality of the player, and have randomly generated player data from the PES database with a skill level comparable to existing players in the club. For example, to generate a CB from Austria for Austria Wien, where existing players have an average skill of 78, I find a random CB with 78 (+/-3) overall stats, and take the skill values from him. Then I find a random Austrian player, and take appearance data from him. Combined together, they should give an Austrian looking CB with 78 overall skills. As I find new patches on the internet, I will try to replace these regens with real players. If a team requires more than 25 regens out of 40 players, I might just drop it for the time being.

All clubs have simple kits based on their historical colours. The simpler the better. I didn't want to see sponsors or supplier logos, so each kit will only have the club crest on them. Some clubs have extra kits, often using retro crests. In some cases I found nice kits on the internet, cleaned them up to remove sponsors and supplier logos, and included them. All kits run through kit-server. Most goalkeeper kits are random, one colour kit sets, and not based on real kits.

When possible, I use crests from the 90s or 2000s.

Since there are too many nations, and one can only have 40 teams per group, clubs are organised in groups based on their confederation and their nation ISO2 code (England = EN, Germnay = DE), with the exception of Italy, since it has 40 clubs. For example, you will find English (EN) teams in the UEFA E-F group, Swiss (CH) teams in the UEFA C-D group, German teams in the UEFA C-D group as well.

I created simple scoreboards with a unified design to go with the mod. In some cases, I've redesigned some logos just because. You can choose the scoreboard from the sider overlay via scoreboard-server. I've commented/removed some code in the original scoreboard-server module to fit the way I use it. If you want the complete functionality, just replace the .lua with the original from the internet.

The best way to enjoy this mod is to start a custom KONAMI league or cup (labelled CALCIO in the menu).

PC Instructions – Save Folder

Copy the new “save” folder to the following location (example path):

\Documents\KONAMI\eFootball PES 2021 SEASON UPDATE\[Folder with various numbers]

If asked to replace files, choose “Yes to All.”

PS4 / PS5 Instructions

Download and extract both parts together (do not extract separately).

Copy the entire WEPES folder to a USB drive.

Plug the USB drive into your console and go to Edit Mode → Import Team.

First, import all files labeled: 0_TEDFIX.

Then import the remaining files in this order: 1, 2, 3, 4.

MLS is optional – import only if you want it.

Finally, install the competitions by selecting Import → Championship.

Notes: 

For best results, follow the step-by-step instructions shown above.

We recommend performing the installation on a clean copy of the game.

After installation, manually organize the teams (e.g., move Italian Serie B teams into Serie A as needed).

The “save folder” is PC-only and comes fully prepared—no need to import files.

PEU and Russian teams and leagues are not included, Turkish teams found in others.

This is just a DB, no textures are included, and since everything is based on Konami IDs, you are free to use other Konami ID-based kits, logos, faces, etc. Recommended Mods found below. You are allowed to share minor mods here regarding this point.

How to Install:

Add attached folder to livecpk and add entry to sider.ini.

cpk.root = ".\livecpk\00_dp7"

MANDATORY: Set Starting Year to 2024 so loaned players return in 2025, setting to years earlier than 2024 would be ok, but loaned players will return in 2025 anyway, no guarantees setting to years earlier than 2020 or after 2024.

Please remove any conflicting mods that modify "common/etc/pesdb" files unless it says its compatible with the DB (Manager Mod, etc.)

Before installation of this patch, we recommend to manually deleting livecpk and content folders from your eFootball PES 2021 folder, (normally in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\eFootball PES 2021"). Download the 25 parts of the Patch v8.5 (AIO).

Execute VirtuaRED.com Patch 2021 v8.5.exe installer. Make sure that the correct eFootball PES 2021 folder is selected in the installation wizard.

Download the 16 parts of the Stadiums v8.5 (AIO) or the XX parts of the Stadiums v8.5 LITE.

Version 3.0 Features:

- Correct Rosters for all Euro 2024 Teams

- Updated Lineups/Tactics for all Euro 2024 Teams

- Minifaces Server for Euro 2024 Teams (14/24 Teams finished, more will follow shortly)

- Euro 2024 Minifaces for all 24 Coaches

- Current Kits for all Euro 2024 Teams

- Current Kits for all Copa America 2024 Teams

- Several other National Teams updated with new Kits (see below list) & Fixes for other Teams

- Fully reworked Campeonato Brasileirão A & B with promoted/relegated Teams for Season 2024

- Updated Squads, Stats, Tactics, Formations, contract data & market values for all Brasileirão Série A & B players

- Updated contract data, stats & market values for Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, Eredivisie, Suisse League & Liga Portugal

- Updated Faces folder with Focus on Euro 2024 Teams

- Several Database Fixes and adjustments

- Some Players have been updated to a real ID

More Information:

- We brought back the Minifaces Server. The Minifaces will only appear if you play with that National Team. On Club Teams the club Minifaces will show. It's a Sider module.

- Finished Euro 2024 Minifaces: Albania, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland.

- More Euro 2024 Team Minifaces are currently in work. Pictures were taken very recently. I will upload them one by one as I finished them for easy copy & paste.

- Copa America Squads aren't finished yet because Squads weren't announced until very recently. A quick Update will be released when we finish the Squads. Again easy copy & paste Database.

HOW TO INSTALL:

1. Install the newest Version of Sider (get familiar with it in case you never used it)

2. Important to already have DLC 7 installed via Steam and started the game once before installing this Version

3. If you installed a previous EvoWebPatch Version (like 1.0 or 2.0), remove the entire EvoWeb Patch folder from your livecpk folder first. Same with other Patches you may have installed, remove them fully

4. Add the livecpk Folder from the Download to your Sider folder

5. Open sider.ini and add the following cpk roots:

cpk.root = ".\livecpk\EvoWeb Patch\Boots-Gloves"

6. For the Euro 2024 Minifaces Server add the following lua module line under CommonLib.lua

lua.module = "MiniFaceServer.lua"

7. Add the content & modules folder from the Euro 2024 Minifaces Server folder into your Sider folder and replaces existing files if asked

8. Add the EDIT00000000 file to Documents\KONAMI\eFootball PES 2021 SEASON UPDATE\Your number\save

9. Clean your WEPES & mount folder if you added any Option Files before

10. If you added other Database related files before, like ML Manager Mod, disable it until the Patch Creator creates an Update.

11. Start Sider and play the game

More Information:

- There will be another Kit Update released in the next few days, Features will follow

- Probably the last planned Update will be a little one for Euro 2024 & Copa America when all Squads are announced

General notices:

- The Database of this Patch was built with bin files, it's important you don't use other Mods using Database bin files like Manager Mods.

You need to disable them and ask the Creator for an Update. ML Manager Mod by SoulBallZ needs an Update, otherwise, the Patch won't work

- The Status of the Database is the eFootball Database from March 2024 (including Winter Transfers) with some manual adjustments

How to install (Version 2.0)?
